Flying Latkes Youth Hockey

The Wood River Jewish Community is excited to support the Idaho Flying Latkes, an all-Idaho, all-Jewish U17 ice hockey team that will be competing in the JCC Maccabi Games in Pittsburgh, PA in Summer 2025.

Founded and captained by WRJC members, Caleb Kurtz & Taj Redman, the Idaho Flying Latkes bring together Jewish athletes from all over the Gem State around their favorite sport. They are currently training to bring home the ice hockey gold from the 2025 Pittsburgh games at the JCC Maccabi Games 2025, but they are planning on expanding the Flying Latkes program into other sports teams and athletic events for Jews in Idaho. 

For their inaugural season, the Idaho Flying Latkes are raising funds to cover their training, travel, housing, fees, and other costs related to attending the JCC Maccabi Games in Pittsburgh, August 2-8, 2025. They are also raising additional funds, selling merchandise and holding an online Jewish Ice Hockey Auction to ensure that the Idaho Flying Latkes Hockey Club continues many years into the future.
